Concerns about the elusive Bed Bug

After a hiatus of some fifty years, Bed Bugs are everywhere!

Bed Bugs are now invading apartments, hotels, college dorms,

homes and other places at an alarming rate which has

not been seen in generations in the United States.

Signs of an Infestation

Watch for reddish or brown spotting or smears on bed linens, mattresses and box springs.  Unexplained insect bites to the torso, arms and legs may also indicate Bed Bugs.  In heavily infested areas, a distinct musty odor may be present.

How do I get Bed Bugs?

Bed Bugs can enter your home through luggage, clothing or other personal items during travel.  Sometimes hotels have Bed Bugs as well as movie theaters, hospitals, stores, colleges and public modes of transportation.  You may also get Bed Bugs from other apartments or condos in your building.  Used furniture, mattresses, even electronics may introduce Bed Bugs into your home.

Where do Bed Bugs hide?

Bed Bugs can hide just about anywhere.  The more common areas would include: the mattress, boxspring, bed frame, headboard, under beds, under carpet, behind baseboards, behind loose wallpaper, drawers, picture frames, electronics or near night stands, closets and amidst clutter.
